ISMPB is proud to maintain and pass along the traditions of the bagpipes started in Birmingham by Ian Sturrock. Playing in a pipe band is one of the most rewarding activities anyone can participate in. There is little to compare to the feeling of marching through a crowded pub, or playing massed bands at a festival, or competing in the contest circle. However, learning your instrument takes a fair amount of patience, persistence and practice. It is also a fairly expensive hobby, both in the cost of equipment and in time.
